Evaluation Question 7!

Evaluation Question 6!

Through he process of the World of Music product music magazine I have been taught a series of skills within a computer such as:
  • Photoshop
  • Google Drive
  • Video scribe
  • Voki
  • YouTube

My Photoshop skills were incredibly low before I participated in this media course. I have learned the ins and outs of Photoshop and have learnt new techniques along with strong layouts and structures. Different techniques helped me to have a wide range of knowledge when needing an idea choice.

I have never used Google Drive before this course as I honestly didn't know it was there. However I quickly adapted to two of the documents within the Drive such as Google Presentation and Google Form. I used these to Drives for different things, the first for evaluation and second for a structure upon my work, this helped me to learn different sources of collecting information.

Each document has taught me to create different pieces of work weather its a:
  • Final Piece
  • Evaluation Method
  • Evidence Work
  • Structure Work.
Each piece of work is different in its own way, I think the best part had to be the final piece producing a music magazine product as it massively boosted my skills within Photoshop and had a lot of fun sorting layouts and collecting images for the 3 sections.

Costume!

A jacket on the artist on a cover is not what i've seen but I asked Alex to wear a jacket which I tried to symbolise how he's always outdoors and travelling from place to place doing a tour. I feel it helps the magazine to be more realistic as he does a lot of gigs with no spare time.

Double Page Inspiration!

Sadly I have lost the images what inspired my double page spread. I am unable to find the correct images again online.
The images were a simple design, an image of the artist on the left side filling the page with a simple headline and information on the right side. I added the name on the left side my self as I think it stands out over the image. the two other images on the other side as I didn't want it to be only text. therefor I created an image and got another image of Alex for the double page spread.

Cover Inspirations.

For my front cover I chose to use the design of Total Guitar's front cover as it gives of many different ways of expressing the magazine. For example a way to attract audiences would be to use the "Learn To Play" because it is something new every issue as the songs change each time and also is different from other magazines. This pulls the reader in and allows more sales on the magazine.

Double Page Update!

changing the text to unbreakable, the house text, creating the top left image, need to insert two more image to each page.

Contents Page Inspirations.

This contents page stood out to me as it covers more information on a contents page than most other contents pages. The only thing I copied of the NME contents is the margen on the left hand side. I feel it is a strong idea because it is simple and tells the reader the majority of pages that there are in it and what the pages are featuring.

Double Page Update!

Adding the double page text stories of Alex Laidlaw and adding his name creating a Head line of the double page spread filling the space. Next I will create a miner image for the top left hand side of the left page and insert a miner image in the bottom right hand side of the left page.

Double Page Starter!

Creating a border around the pages separating the edge from the main use space allowing me to keep the pages tidy not looking messy.

Contents Page Update!

Adding the boarders to the contents. Need to add the finishing touches.

Contents Page Update!

Creating a drop shadow on all the text allows the text to be more easily read.

Contents Page Update!

Leaving the background white allows the yellow text to blend with the background being unable to read.

Contents Page Update!

Finishing the contents page. a problem with the grey background not fitting with the house style of the magazine.
